Principle #1 - Farming is a Way of Life

Farming is not a profession but a way of life

Farming is one of the few endeavors that can address human needs at all levels – physical, mental and spiritual.
So we decided to embrace its potential at all levels. Practically, this means a few things:

  • Living in the farm and considering ourselves the primary laborers.
  • Focusing on helping the land create a forest-like eco system with the farm’s needs taking precedence over our needs.
  • Growing everything we need as much as possible (food, fuel, fodder, medicine etc)
  • Consider the farm as a temple, laboratory and theater to embody, experiment with and express the spirit, laws and values of nature.
